Throwback to an Old Blog Post
Back in the summer of 2022, I took a solo trip to Southern Italy and I explored the popular Amalfi Coast and Napoli.
I also booked a hotel in a small coastal town (this was pre-pandemic) but I only managed to make the trip to that town in the summer of 2022.
You can read about this off-the-grid trip in this blog post.
Perception is Everything
On my first day at the hotel, I was sitting in the outdoor restaurant, facing the ocean and simply enjoying the view.
An older man (who was staying at the same hotel with his wife and a group of friends to attend a wedding) started a conversation with me. After I spent the next couple of days hanging out with that group of friends, he told me that I looked lonely.
The interesting thing is that this was solely his perception, because why would I feel lonely when I’m a free-spirited person who loves travel and exploration? I was simply enjoying the view and being in an authentic coastal Southern Italian town.
To give you an idea of what this means, I had a conversation with a local in my last Bali trip at a cafe and when I shared with him that I’m single but not by choice, he immediately got me. He said: “You like freedom.”
That local guy who works at a cool Bali coffee shop was able to understand my personality and how freedom is my top value. And how hanging out by myself is not a reflection of feeling lonely or any other negative emotion.
He totally gets what being a free-spirited soul is all about and that I actually love doing things on my own and I enjoy (and every cherish) my own company.
Being free-spirited also means that you get to meet other people along the way. Some of them will be like-minded and others (like the older man from the Italian hotel) will not be. It’s really as simple as that!
What Happens when you think that your Manifestation isn’t Working
When you don’t see your desire in your 3D reality, this doesn’t mean that your manifestation isn’t working.
There are many things that are happening in the background:
- You are aligning with the energy of your future self. What this means is that you need to feel content and happy as if you already have your person.
- You are releasing old patterns and energy. This is done by doing the healing and spiritual growth work.
- You are becoming the version of you that has your dream person. What this means is that you’re still evolving into someone better who can actually draw in and maintain your dream person.
Becoming the Version of you that Has your Person
One conversation that I had with that older man from the Southern Italian hotel that I will never forget is when he asked if I cook for myself.
We might have been discussing cooking and how I love to improve my cooking skills or something.
He followed up on what I said by asking if I cooked for myself. So he was basically surprised that someone would get into the trouble of cooking for one person.
Of course I answered that I do and that I enjoy it.
Although I don’t remember the exact details of the conversation, I do remember thinking to myself how stupid it would be for someone to start cooking only when they meet their person! LOL
I can’t shake off the idea of being this single person who eats takeaway all the time, because they don’t want to cook for one person. And then when they eventually meet someone special, they will start learning how to cook from a zero skill point.
Wouldn’t that be very stupid and also unhealthy? Why not spend your single years working on being the best version of yourself? Yes, it will take years to get to that best version but it’s totally worth it if you’re manifesting an amazing man.
And this applies to everything when it comes to manifesting, not only cooking.
The reason that your person hasn’t showed up yet in your reality isn’t because you’re being punished or something.
It’s because you’re being prepared and shaped into the person who can be in that beautiful, loving and healthy relationship.
Let me know your thoughts on this. Do you love to cook your meals even when you cook for one?
Or do you wait to be in a relationship to learn how to make awesome dishes and go through the big learning curve then?
I’m off to clean a bit then make some Asian noodles with shrimps and veggies. Because yes, I cook for myself every day fo the week and I love it!
Love,
Leela
